20 posts in 625 days Location: Calgary Alberta I am relatively new to the woodworking realm, but have worked in the construction business for 33 years, as an ironworker. Being I generally work away from home, it took me close to a year to build my shop. It's in my basement. (First thing I realized was I built it too small!) I have included a few pics from around the shop, showing most of my gear. I've also included a few project pictures. These days I'm all about hand tools, and learning what I can do with them. So far I've made an assortment of spoons, spatulas, and bowls. As I'm writing this, my first two shaker boxes are drying in clamps down in the shop. Probably most of thhis info should have gone into a blog, but hey, I'm new here. I will update as time permits. Aren’t all workshops too small? LOL Checked out your projects page looks like you are progressing in use of handtools? I’m jealous! The furnace in my shop which I installed just stopped working. forunately its not cold now. But another thing to keep me from making stuff. Have you checked out Japanese joinery. Great book! There is a section on training Japanese carpenters in their use of handtools. When it said find a place under a tree I said “Hugh?” LOL!
