Location: Southern IL

I am a retired carpenter and have been a member of the carpenters union since 1959. I actively worked at the trade for 42 years before my retirement in 2001. The last 25 of those years was as a General contractor building custom homes, in fact all but about 4 of those years were spent on custom homes. Woodworking may be a natural extension of building, yet completely different in some ways. I am blown away by some of the projects I see out there. My hats off to guys with the clever designs and fine workmanship. Knowing how to handle tools is only part of it, the rest I must learn and believe me, I am having a blast trying to master some of the projects. I appreciate a venue such as this one to interact with people with the same interest and the willingness to share. Dave

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
