Part 1: Using Drawer Bottom as the Drawer Slide
I want to build a drill press stand with lots of shallow drawers to hold drill bits, similar to the drawers at the Dandy Drawers site. Has anyone tried building drawers with the bottom extending out past the sides, so the bottom can be used as the drawer slides? I could cover the front with a nice drawer face. Seems like a simple solution especially for light weight stuff and also maximizes drawer space. In this sketch, the brown drawer bottom fits into dadoes in the cabinet sides.
