I have been using General Finishes Salad Bowl Finish for my CB’s. I love the look it leaves and the ease of use but can’t stand the smell of it. I purchased some food grade mineral oil and was given some pure beeswax from a friend. I strained the wax and let it set up. I have started selling a good bit of these and think the mor...

belt size for woodmaster stroke sander - 3 replies
I just bought a woodmaster w-800 stroke sander. Problem is that it didn’t come with a manual and I was unable to get any info from Woodmaster since they dont produce these anymore. I have done an online search and came up with multiple answers. It did come with several belts and I laid them out flat and measured them then multiplied by 2....

Getting the Arbor out of my pm66 - 1 reply
Anyone have a good method for getting this darn thing out? I have a 2000 model pm66 that I’m replacing the Arbor on. It was bent slightly so I ordered a whole new one with new flanges, bearings, etc

Pinching between fence and blade - 9 replies
I am having issues with my PM66 and my lumber being pinched between the fence and blade. It seems that it is pinching in the back as it comes through the saw. The material tends to come away from the fence and toward the blade as it comes out of the blade. Don’t know whether or not that description makes sense. I have put a digital m...

riving knife/blade guard pm66 - 3 replies
So I have a pm66 (2000 model) that I bought about 6 months ago. It came with a riving knife and blade guard attachment. I have yet to use it. Id like to hear the pros and cons of using this. To me it just seems as if it would get in the way. Btw, I mainly cut 8/4 and 4/4 hardwood and 3/4 plywood. Thanks in advance Tyson

PM 66 Mobile Base - 3 replies
Built this mobile base last week for my new saw. It is amazing at how easy it is to move now. I will be putting an extension table on it and then finish the base up by putting some supports out on the end. Powermatic 66 Starter/Switch - 34 replies
So, for some reason my starter will not start my motor. The green button that pushes the switch that is supposed to start the motor just hums. The motor will run when I push the blue botton that is just to the left of the one that is supposed to start the engine. However, it will not stay in and keep the motor running Motor is 5hp 230v 3 p...

Solid or ply for shelves - 14 replies
What’s the general concensus about what to use for shelves? I’m looking at building some either out of oak boards or ply or maple wood or birch ply. The longest shelf would be 48”, however, I believe there will be a divider which would make them slightly less than 24” each. Thanks

Border for End Grain CB?? - 5 replies
I am wanting to try some new cb designs and would like to try one with a border around it. How do I go about doing that on end grain? Maybe it’s easy and I’m just not figuring it out in my head, but I can’t seem to get a grip on how to do it Thanks Tyson

Table Saw Blade - 31 replies
The PM66 I just bought doesn’t have a blade so I will be needing to buy one or two. I am looking for recommendations for a good blade or two. I mainly work with 4/4 and 8/4 hardwood. I have been making a lot of cutting boards. My current saw is a cheapo skil table saw. I know Forrest has a good reputation but I have been told by sever...

mobile base for cabinet saw - 3 replies
I’m thinking about buying the Rockler all terrain mobile base for my new pm66. Right now it has a set of 52” rails but I might have to cut them down 10” (I’m hoping not). I am wondering if the all terrain base will work? Also, I am a little leary of not having a leg support out there. I don’t plan on putting an...

My New Saw PM66 (at least new to me) - 2 replies
Just bought my first real table saw. I got a great deal on it, at least I think. I paid $700 for it. Based on the sn it appears to be either a 2000 or 2007 model and has a 3 ph 5hp motor. I plan on cleaning it up and hopefully getting it going after the new year. I’ll follow up with updated pics once I get it cleaned up. Tyson

going to build a separator - 4 replies
So I just bought the rockler separator kit on sale and a new 30 gal fiber drum. I want it to be as efficient as possible so I thought I’d ask here. I know the thein lid is highly touted. I was thinking about trying to place the components in the lid like the thein and see how it does without the baffle underneath. Has anyone done this ...

diy separator vs. store bought - 9 replies
Now I’m not wanting to take anything away from the Thein Separator (I’ve heard nothing but good things), but was wondering how the store bought one’s compare? I was wondering if they are close. I have a friend who runs one and he loves it. Any feedback would be great looking at this one http://www.woodcraft.com/product...
