The last one you will ever need (or want)

The last one you will ever need (or want)

Good evening LJ’s, Last week I ordered and received this gripper Model 200Y, this on the verge of a cabinet job :) Well friends I put it to the test ripping anything from plywood cabinet sides to face frame materials and it lived up to their claims. the green sticky rubber really grips the wood without sliding and keeping it renewed is simply using denatured Alcohol to clean it. the plate on the bottom assists in helping rip thin stock, remove it with a simple loosening of two wing ...

A big step up ( with a few nice extras)

A big step up ( with a few nice extras)

Good evening LJ’s, 1. It came with an air hose2. Dual couplings 3. Goodies, Goodies,Goodies A few more of the great features are that it is oil free No oil to maintain, the controls are up front and easy to use, moisture drain is easy to use and operate, and the air ratchet, impact gun, and hose seal the deal. Out of the box the finish is nice and the overall quality is great but where this excels at is with my HVLP gun Although it is labeled for occasional use with spray guns I don...

Affordable Drum sanding Finally

Affordable Drum sanding Finally

02-25-2011 06:28 AM by sawblade1 | 21 comments »

Today I received this little guy in my shop :) Drum sanders are expensive especially conveyor fed ones however Grizzly’s new 10” drum sander fits the bill at 345.00 and put it into the range of most average woodworkers. To have one is a luxury but a well deserved one. The sander left the boards smooth and scratch and track mark free. I set mine up with 180 grit paper instead of the 80 grit it came with. I only give it five stars with a few exceptions. On the sander I received ...

Good evening LJ’s, Yesterday while I was at work this wonderful tool arrived at the shop :) I give it five stars because it’s a no brainier as I am looking to save space and become more efficient in my shop, the fit an finish out of the box was great, instructions was great and easy to follow,. All of the bolts, and other hardware was supplied and fit too :) Installation took about 25 minutes and required me to remove the left iron wing on my Delta table saw, but what makes thi...

Good evening LJ’s posting another review of the tools I love The first pics show the two of them together, The second pic shows Lazarus the 18v drill who is the newest addition rescued from the trash bin and the third pic shows Elijah the cordless 12v drill who has served me for over 14 years this November:) You just can’t kill these things This past Monday I found the 18v drill in a trash bin no batteries or charger with a locked up gear box after carefully disassembling the dri...

With the series of blogs on LJ’s about wanting to operate a woodworking business I felt obligated to do a review on this book. Last Friday I contacted fellow LJ Billb about his book Woodworking Business Start Quickly and Operate Successfully and he contacted me back and was very helpful about my concern of buying off the internet working to answer any questions about anything I had to throw at him, I received the book Monday and even a veteran woodworker and being in business for two...

This is why I trust Delta machinery :) I hope I am not coming off as a brand snob but this jointer is over 36 years old, AND STILL RUNNING ON THE ORIGINAL KNIVES TO BOOT!!!!!! I picked this up this spring from a guy at work who was getting rid of his shop and moving into a condo for $100 and with only the cord needing replaced from dry rot and rust from being in the basement it performs like it did coming out of the box :) Adding to this Parts are still available along with the Owners manual ...

Great Mortiser

Great Mortiser

08-23-2010 04:42 AM by sawblade1 | 9 comments »

Got this Jointer Monday from Woodcraft, first impressions out of the box was great paint was crisp, not a lot of machine oil or packing grease Just enough to keep the rust off. Assembly took less than an 1/2 hour and the instructions were clear and concise, the mortiser came with all four chisels from 1/4” to 1/2” however I probably upgrade to lee Valley chisels (personal preference) Although the chisels out of the box are sharp and square I would recommend purchasing the diamon...

Fellow lumberjocks I hate to post a bad review but this dovetail jig has taken the last of my Patience that I allocated for it :( I bought this last year after realizing I need a jig, well I am fed up with trying to fix an almost new jig after reading the instruction manual and setting it up accordingly I placed the wood in the holder and tightened the clamp and after 3 seconds SNAP!!!! the knobs and bushing holders were broke after calling grizzly and getting a new bag of knobs and nylon b...
