Good evening LJ’s,
I recently was looking at my blog and realized I hadn’t posted this blog in 67 days !!! I meant it as a weekly blog, but several deaths of close friends, and my aunt have kept me from posting. Quite frankly I just didn’t feel like it. As I look at my last blog of my templates that I made I realized I have accomplished a lot in just 67 days.
Since I last posted I have finally Secured a lumber supplier for my western red cedar. I have a funny little story about it to share :) A person out at work asked me how I did with my chairs, I proceeded to tell him not so good :( As he inquired why I told him I just couldn’t find the lumber I wanted or a steady supply of it !!!
He referred me to a little Ma and Pa operation in an adjacent county and said if they didn’t carry it they could get it . OK I was skeptical after all he was a senior manager and me, A janitor but what the heck I give the guy a call and not only got what I was looking for, but they would truck it to me for $30 up to $500 and anything over that was free :) Couldn’t beat that offer so the second week in February I take the first order of 30 5/4×4”x 8’
cedar boards for Back slats/ front legs and other misc components :) wood gloat of sort I guess.
This year I did not make any resolutions and with things going south on my job I realized I hadn’t not be slacking if I wanted to make this year profitable :) One of the things I decided is not to take no for an answer and learn to say no to people who want free or cost based materials :) I am developing a product line using pine as a source to attract business and with two possible Jobs lined up in the spring (Carpenter work) not my ideal specialty but woodworking Right ? Things are going to be better this year because I am going to make it better
BTW some of the other things I have accomplished are a child’s Adirondack chair template set (I might post this next week) :) and am in the middle of reworking my shop and several other projects around the house I will post later also :)
Until next week take care ( I promise) ;)
