Good evening LJ’s This blog is dedicated to the one who really wants to start a business whether it’s woodworking or otherwise :)
Last week I blogged about Mrs. Sheila my friend and counsel retiring, well this week I have been in a funk :( My job hasn’t gotten any better and my former neighbor telling me I needed to give up on my business because I probably won’t make it. To say the least I was severely discouraged :( Well a few years back a special person at work was hired on my birthday and became a great friend, her name, Diettra.
Diettra and I became close friends and kept in close contact through the years even though the company I work for transferred her to another building, Threatened us with termination, and after her leaving the company we remained close friends. This week I was feeling down and I swear she can feel this spiritually, she wrote some words of encouragement I want to share with you guy’s .

”It is not your aptitude but your attitude that determines your altitude in life”

”If you don’t go after what you want you’ll never have it, If you don’t ask the answer is always no, If you don’t step forward you’re always in the same place”

”Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all”

”You got to take the initiative and play your game, in a decisive set confidence will make the difference”
Whether you are at the beginning or struggling to get off the ground or trying to grow, friends, faith, and determination will make anything happen. When people look at you and say HA they’ll never make it and trouble rises Take Ann Landers advice- Expect trouble as a inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high look it squarely in the eye and say ” I will be bigger than you You will not defeat me. Couple this with President Woodrow Wilson’s quote - “You are not here to make a living, you are here to enable the world to live more amply, with greater vision, and with a finer spirit of hope and achievement. You are here to enrich the world, you impoverish yourself if you forget this errand.”
Couple this with the word of God and you have power if your situation won’t change itself ,then change your situation. What have you been working on that seems to be impossible ? Make the change, pull up the anchor, pull out of the dock, set sail. When I got this it changed my outlook on things
until next week take care :)

Nice that you were able to change the direction and attitude in mid-week :-) Guess I have always been lucky to have that attitude built in. A friend I used to know for a few years told me she had never seen me in a bad mood. It served me well n the darkest moments of starting my business and recovering from a 400 mg overdose of Topamax prescribed by an idiot who shouldn’t be practicing medicine on anyone! I guess I can vouch for attitude being the key ;-)

I know many idiots like that Topmax.

Sawblade1: Your friend is wise. I don’t think your neibourgh knows your business more than you do.

I always say this: People don’t always go to the same bar because they have a different bud. They go there because they feel welcome. keep a smile, put a “winer” attitude on and never forget that the customer puts food on your table; your business will probably succeed.

Patron, I like the boat analogy.

My grandfather used to put it this way:
“If you think you can, or if you think you can’t, you are right either way.”

Be humble before others and seek strenght. Where?

I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

You have a wonderful friend there.
I always like to say that life is like mountains and valleys, we need both to epreciate the other, Imagine a hole life in the same place, it’s scarry.
And for me the important lesson in life is that what is important are that we are there, and try, if we do that, then we can enjoy the moment, and we have no regrets after.

So – go for your wish, the worst that can happen is that it goes wrong, but if you dont try, you will regred you did not try.
Best thoughts,

Keep Focused.
Distractions of all sorts come in our paths each day.
Character, persevere, stay the course.
You are more than a conqueror!
I agree….your neighbor doesn’t know your business and your passion like you do. YOU make your success!
Keep building UP!

Sounds like your neighbor maybe a little jealous because you own your own business. That and your neighbor doesn’t know what there talking about. That always gives me a reason to prove them wrong. Not in a bad way but in the way as I can do it and nobodys going to tell me I can’t. And always keep god first and everything else will go the way it suppose to.
