Good evening LJ’s this week has been interesting to say the least :) After wrestling with the fact that I needed to rearrange my shop and trying at this getting mostly the west wall SW corner clean and my jointer and my workbench swapped gaining a whopping 8 SQ FT. Hey with 192 SQ FT. space counts!!!! I had a crappy work week our Union sold us out and threw us up under the bus if I may use that vernacular, boss put more on me and my co-worker he is 19 and said this sucks :( The kid has good work ethic but also knows how much is too much!!
That led up to this weekend that things started to look up :) I had made a project for a local pastor whom I respect very much. The funny story of the project is after I made it and was paid for it back in 2007 she finally picked it up Saturday, along with dropping off that she wanted a pulpit built.
As I work on this hopefully by Monday evening it is a go, my first commission :)
Often I sometimes wonder why I started woodworking as a profit, but bad weeks at work and great weekends like this remind me when I get to the point of leaving my job for my business will be the happiest day of my life and the way it looks it might be very shortly :) as I work at rearranging the shop and revamping the jig system for my chairs I look forward to this day:) Until next week take care.

Well, I’m sorry about your bad week at work but it sounds like the things in your shop are getting done and if your hopes and dreams are coming to fruition then all seems well enough.

I too am sorry to hear about your bad week. However it is good when we can do something for others and enjoy doing it. My advise is to think this job through very carefully, once you make your decision put your heart and soul into it. I know how a bad work place can make you feel. Everything will work out, keep it all in perspective. Have you prayed about this situation?

Unemployment and woodworking on the side…..... life is good and things are looking up! :)
