Website:

I am sandt38. I guess I should start with my log-in name. It is S AND Turbo 3.8 liter motor. I took it from my 1986 Buick Grand National... my turbocharged 3.8 liter 500 HP 11.84 sec Sunday driver.

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f93/sandt38/Car/200k3quartersm.jpg

I hail from Buffalo, NY and made my way to San Diego CA. I lived in LaJolla for 2 years before relocating to Orange County CA. After 8 more years out there I had to get out and moved to Central North Carolina, where I currently reside.

I live here with my wife, and youngest son, and our 4 other boys are scattered from Orange County CA, to San Jose CA, to rights here with us in Central NC... we have a grandbaby on the way (thankfully our son who is having the child lives about 15 minutes away from us, so we can spoil it (we don't know if it is a he or a she yet) rotten.

I am a 30 year automotive technician with my ASE Master (with L1), and an AC Delco Master certified Technician. I have held a safety inspection license in NY, a BAR 90, and ASM Dyno smog license in California, and a BAR 97 and OBD2 emissions inspectors license in NC. My specialty is electronics, computers, and driveability on GM vehicles, but I perform most work on all American and Asian cars.

I was diagnosed in July of 2009 with 4th stage (terminal) colon cancer, but through the grace of God, and the meeting of a fantastic oncologist who is a believer, I have been given a second chance. Don't ignore the signs, friends. When your doctor tells you to ignore bleeding, or occasional pain, go to another doctor. I did this at the advice of my GP, and almost lost my life. Be proactive with your health. My life has changed in ways I can't even tell you, I will never be the same... If I had listened to my body and done what it told me instead of what my doctor told me, I might have just had a tiny pebble instead of a fist sized mass with metastasis to my liver and lymph nodes.

This second chance made me go ahead and focus on what I love, woodworking. So here I am, deciding to really build myself a workshop, and get to it. I am here to learn, and will ask a lot of questions, so please bear with me.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
