At 76 I am a child of the previous generation because my father, who, as a fourteen year old, fought in the so called "Boer War" 1899_1902 (Even though the English came 6000 miles to fought us) fathered me when he was 52 , so please bear with me when the vernacular of the conqueror does not exactly convey what I really meant. Your conclusion that I am a "Boer" is fair. After our retirement from active farming, the wife and me,(always remember the sequence) are still living on the farm where we started in 1961. I never did any real woodwork till about ten, fifteen years ago. Initially the inspiration just came from literature but once we gained access to the Internet via satellite and a friend introduced me to Lumberjocks a whole new world, as if I am transported to Sawdust Outerspace, opened for me. Thank you for every contribution I saw and read. It motivated me to build solid wood furniture, that will last for the next generation, for every one of our four children. I am fortunately unashamedly addicted to woodwork. I have enough wood to last me up to 90. After that I will see what next.
