I built my own home workshop by purchasing a metal building and pouring a slab. It is 20 feet by 16 feet inside and 11 feet high. On it I also poured a porch that is 12 by 8. My saws and large tools are on wheels and can be rolled out onto the porch to use. This keeps my sawdust outside and an easy cleanup most of the time. Later I added a pergola for shade during the hot summer months. The hardest part was installing a hurricane door by myself. It is the rolldown type and extremely heavy. But now I have a wonderful workshop.
