Very little vibration on this little guy
As I blogged yesterday my old PC 333 ROS went to the great tool yard in the sky in the middle of my project. I needed something quick so I could finish the project. After looking through the reviews here at LJ’s this was the one my mind was set on. It was $70 at Lowe’s but I got them to honor a coupon from the BORG and got $5 off. PRO’s - Very little vibration, unlike the old PC- Dust Collection was very effective as previously noted- Nice long power cord – seem...
This worked great
Bought this a while back used it to scribe my miter bench top to the wall and it worked so much better than the compass that I used on my first attempt.
These are disappearing fast.....
Having followed late last year it was noted with great sadness that this company had closed it doors. It supposedly made the greatest rasps for woodworkers in the world. Each one is handcrafted by an artisan in France who had to train for 3 years to until they are allowed to forge, heat treat and hand stitch a rasp whose teeth are cut very regular, but always spaced a bit little off with each tooth cutting a slightly different path than its predecessor. Taper jig for us lazy folks
Got this when I was in the Cambridge Rockler store. I had been thinking about making my own but this one is only $15 and I couldn’t pass. It works as designed, both sides of the fence. Offers measurements in degrees and inches per foot of taper. I cut the the piece of red oak in the bottom of th...
Evapo Rust - Awesome Awesome Awesome
I posted up a project about refinishing an old plane and Mark Mazzo refered to a product on his sites blog for removing rust. In my best Hank Hill voice…I tell you what. This stuff just works! I had to let it soak for a couple of days but man, all I had to do was rinse off the pieces then lightly use a stainless still brush to remove the remaining paint. I have used navel jelly, wire wheels, WD 40. They all pale greatly in comparison. If you have something small that is heavily rusted a...
Wixey Saw Fence Digital Readout - Installation review
I have really been wanting one of these and I got it for my birthday yesterday. Was excited and got out late this morning and got started on the install. The first picture shows everything that came in the box. Well almost everything, it was missing one of the sensor strips. So my simple two hour install telescoped out within the first 20 minutes. So after an 1:30 minute round trip to Woodcraft to exchange it out. I was able start the install again. Assembly is simple and straight forward, th...
