I’m currently working on the Corner Computer Desk from the Woodsmith Magazine No.109. I just completed the corner desk section. Now working on one of the extensions. If things go well, I may add another extension on. I gotta tell you though, this project was a lot more work than I originally anticipated. Looking over the plans for this desk, I knew it would be hard work, but some mistakes were made and instead of giving up on it, I had no choice but to modify the desk. However, looking at the finished desk, I must say, it looks good. You would never know by looking at the desk that the dimensions were slightly modified. I intentionally omitted the divider strips on the sides of the desk only because I think it looks great without them. So, after 2 years of working on the corner desk(actually 5 years since I downloaded the plan), it’s finally completed. I’ll upload pictures soon.
Finally finished the desk and the extention wing. I uploaded pictures of the desk in the making and the finished desk. I intentionally left off the keyboard tray because I knew I wouldn’t of had enough knee room. And the fact it would only keep me farther away from the monitor. It went together very well, although the extention piece didn’t line up with the corner desk. Not sure where I went wrong with it, but I was able to piece it together in a way that you really can’t tell.
Next project is building a fish tank stand for my 29 gallon Bio-Cube. So far it’s looking decent. The top and bottom pieces are 3/4 inch MDF with the side panels birch. That’s the wood I left lying around. The stand will be painted black. Right now, I’m figuring out what I can do for the the front door.
