Are you getting tired as I with these ads regarding garbage, Ellen Degeneratre, weight loss, Dr Oz and all of the other ‘Daytime Soap’ issues?

I am near to discontinuing my participation in Lumberjocks after some half-dozen years as a believer!

Owner/Manager/ Ms Debbie….Wake up. This is a woodworking site, not a ‘Daytime Soap Opera’ site. We can leave, if you wish us to do so.

Problem is Ms Debbie is not with us anymore. Some nerd people have taken control, and do what they want and ignore anything we “complain” about.

I agree, also. It seems that since the site changed hands, the ads have become more pervasive. Would like to see that dialed back quite a bit.

Or at least make them woodworking related. I mean, what’s with the busty chick pointing her fingers at us? A new method of hand planing?

I never seen any of these ads you all mention. Maybe you should look at your settings and block ads and such. Just a thought.

Drew, that sounds like a good idea, but how do I do that? I don’t have ad blocker software—is there a way to do it in IE?

Are people talking about the ads on the bottom and sides? I barely notice them….

Kick IE to the curb and get Firefox…and Adblock plus for Firefox!
I too am sick of the ads…on all sites.

I agree with MT_Stringer. I have used Firefox for years with Adblock Plus. It works very well and eliminates unwanted ads.

HMmmm. I’ll get my computer adviser on to this Firefox Ver 6 ad removal tool.

I currently uses FireFox, but am unsure if Ad Blocker #6 is in position. If this does not work, I will seriously consider leaving.

Are you logged in when you’re having the ad problems. They made some changes a while ago that made some of the ad stuff less annoying as long as you were logged in. I use LJ almost always on my iPad and I have no problems with ads whatsoever and I have not done anything to make it that way.
