The Swap Meet at Sacramento woodcraft

I drove 3 and 1/2 hours to attend the swap meet in Sacramento on Sunday. I found some nice wood and met a few Lumberjocks. Rustfever was there with some nice wood he has sawn. I got some Carob and Beeswing Eucalyptus( he called it butterfly Euc.) And some Walnut burl. I met Gene, Majeagle, and talked boxes. John Ormsby was there selling wood. I couldn’t wait around to go to his house to see the good Maple. I bought some odds and ends of wood from a young guy and got his number to see more of what he has sawn. There were quite a few people selling tools and what looked like some good deals. I don’t need any more tools, esp hand tools. Hope to connect with Ira (rustfever) again. When someone says they have too much wood, I am willing to help them out—of some of it!

Not sure where this goes, but I was checking on a guy who told me he had joined. a lot of the new members are just ads for promo codes and skin toner. Don’t look like real people or woodworkers. Who do I ask to check this out?

Quandry- Do I stop the glue up and take the call from my wife??

I was in my shop and halfway through doing the glue up for a cutting board when my wife calls on her cell. She is on a trip to see her sister in Berkeley, Ca. Prudence says I answer and risk the glue drying!! LOML was in Berkeley and had discovered McBearth(sp) Hardwoods. She saw the place, stopped, and she is calling to ask me which of the woods I would like! Lacewood or some of the others she described. One more reason to have been married to her for 30 years. I said Lacewood would be nice. She said it had nice grain! Ran the cutting board wood through my table saw to scrap the glue off and it looked fine. I was halfway through the next glue up on another board and she called again She had bought the Lacewood and something else. She has just trained me to always answer when she calls. Robert
