Not sure where this goes, but I was checking on a guy who told me he had joined. a lot of the new members are just ads for promo codes and skin toner. Don’t look like real people or woodworkers. Who do I ask to check this out?

You can flag (as spam) any posts they make that seem inappropriate, but there is no facility that I have seen to flag the actual member. All I can suggest is that if you have particular concerns, you could send a PM to Martin or Debbie

if you flag the post they made then if Martin or who envastigate find it to be only spam they will get the
sort of socalled new member deleted thats how it works :-)

They are SPAMMERS!!!
1. There is NO WAY to FLAG A Spammer. UNLESS they DO make an Actual Posting, which they never do.
2. There is NO Flag available on their “Profile” so you can’t do it that way either.
3. As Tootles has pointed out the only way you can do it is to send a PM as He’s shown. You’d spend weeks doing that!
I just had a look at ONE PAGE of “Most Recent” Jocks. There are at least 7 to 10 of them on there. ......They Don’t get removed. .....I’ll let you figure out why.

That’s OK Rick, I posted a load of controversial political arguments from both sides with your name on it. Let me know when the threats start and your new names get assigned.

Yup, there are a lot of advertisers who post their ads that have nothing to do with woodworking. I just send them a nastygram and tell them this is a wood working site…........Jim

Scrolling through the pages of “new” members, I’m sure that there are at least 1000 LJ accounts that are spam. Doesn’t really matter though, they don’t seem to do anything other than inflate the total # of members that Lumberjocks advertises on its home page.
