I looked at your projects and I noticed that you made a gun cabinet. Was that for you or did you make it for someone else. (I hope) I love the size and the selection of wood. Hope to see more project from you side of the river soon.

Welcome Randy, I think you’ll love it here, like you said it is such a nice community and you can talk with people from all over the world and learn about different people and different cultures. and most of all different styles and ideas of woodworking. I’m sure we would love to hear about your part of the world!

Dominic, the plans came from http://www.popularmechanics.com/home_journal/woodworking/1273026.html. The plans are crude and required relying on past experience to do the project. I made a few changes as I went along. Used oak plywood and solid oak throughout, with two coats of pecan stain and three coats of poly. The two glassed sections have halogen lighting, with keyed locks on all sections.
I’m glad you asked. I have a close “brother” who served as a leader in a Boy Scout troop with me over the past several years. You won’t find a better friend than Keith Hazel. I built it as a gift for him.
