I have just found this site and it is great! Finished reading through the statements “You might be a lumber jock if” and have found out that everyone applied to me.

Thank you all so much.
I have a very small shop which I built myself. It is 12’ x 16’ and has all the necessary tools. I have started collecting wooden molding planes and have many from the 1800s. I love taking my coffee down to my shop, walking in and smelling the pine shavings and just touching the tools. To know that those molding planes were used by someone more than 150 years ago is rather humbling.

Thank you all for being so kind.

I know what you mean about the “used by other people”. I have purchased a lot of kitchen items from antique stores… and to mix cake batter in a bowl that.. well you know what I mean. What a feeling!

Glad to have you on board, Richard. I am looking forward to seeing some of your projects and comments. As DocK said, everyone, irrespective of their individual experience, can both contribute to and learn from other members of this group.
