I am working on a small box that has a spalted maple top. Final sanding and finish remain to be done. I am debating what kind of lift or handle to put on the top, my general goal being not to detract from the spalting pattern. Right now I am leaning toward a small, simple, round or perhaps square walnut (or some other wood) post centered on the top, about 3/4 inch high. Whattaya think? Any suggestions from those LJ’ers who are more artistic than I? Comments and opinions appreciated. Rowdy
