Once I had the cabinet home I (she) had to decide how she wanted to set up all the electronics. We (she) decided it would be better if both the top and bottom sections had doors on them, and we needed to put a couple shelves in to hold the dvd player, vcr, etc…
Space in the upper opening is a little tight so there will be just enough room for a shelf, and by taking out one of the drawers we can put another shelf in the lower cabinet.
This is what I got accomplished shortly after all the decisions were made.
I basically took the drawer completely apart routed dados for seperaters and then used a picture hanging bit to route groves in the new bottoms to hold some dividers.
Here is the cabinet after I removed the top drawer and back. The back was taken out to create access to route a dado for the shelf. I haven’t yet removed the trim on the front.
