the first coat of oil has been applied and is waiting for finish sanding and polishing…
the inlay is inlace, inlace turquoise nuggets, and sawdust…

a neighbor of mine was very good to me and our community recently…
he gave me a piece of cedar, reclaimed from a timber framed barn, and i turned this lil bowl…
in turn, i donated the bowl to the boys and girls club of hood county for a silent auction…

this lil project reminded me once again (HA!!!) about planning…
i cut three grooves into the outside with the intent of adding dark blue rings of inlace, only to find my can of resin just az hard az a rock…
the bowl sold with empty grooves… :D:D:D

by now you folks know i came into a load of willow… HA!!!
this i made last month for my mother’s birthday…
it turned out looking quite like one of the collection plates at church, but, i assure you this was not intentional… HA!!!

i have been making tha lil valentine’s day knickknack for about twenty years running…
tha old man and lady are one of tha thingys i do that always seem to get a smile from folks…
in this specific instance, vicki and matt, two good friends of mine, were about to git hitched…
so i scrolled them some “before and after” scenarios…
HA!!!
i sometimes, depending on my customer’s wishes, customize these projects with individual’s names…
since i mostly use birch plywood, i paint almost all of my lil cutouts, except fer some fancy picture frames…
of which, i have not found my pics…

while turning, i misjudged, AGAIN, tha depth of my bowl and poked a gouge clean thru…
fortuitously, i had overmixed a batch of inlace a week before and with a bit of superglue and chutzpah, presto!!!
