I am the son of a carpenter and have had a hammer in my hand since I can remember. (but at the beginning it was more destructive than constructive) First recorded wood working project was at 8 years old(a 2x4 chair) (the picture has lasted longer than the chair). I worked with my dad during the summers as a labor (so that stopped my carpentry career) I did more DIY stuff for the next 20 years. Now I have the extra money (the kid left home) So I have both the time and the money to put into woodworking. (if my wife allows me). My favorite project was a set of dominoes for my daughter (the kid that left still takes up a lot of my time) they are maple and purple heart laminated together and 100 hours, 1000 holes later and an awful lot of skinny little dowel made it turned out not half bad.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
