Hello, all. I've been a member here at LJs for a while, and I thought it's high time I chimed in instead of just watching everyone else. I learned about LumberJocks at The WoodWhisperer and really like the site, especially the bios and pictures of others , their projects, and shops. I am a hobby woodworker, since high school ('70s), and as many others can relate, between family and job don't have enough time to spend in the shop. My first shop was in a corner of my mother's potting shed, and my tool collection was sparse, consisting of a Skil jigsaw, an old B&D circular saw, AMT portable tablesaw and AMT lathe (shared the same motor, switching back and forth as needed)), 3/8" B&D drill and a drill stand, a B&D router, and a few hand tools.
I am married to a wonderful girl, Amy. Although she doeesn't share my passion for all things wood and all the tools, she understands and supports my habit. We do share a love for travel, food, books, and UGA sports. We don't have any children but do have a very rambunctious 2 year old Golden Retreiver named Zoe (rhymes w/ joey) who is queen of the estate and #1 shop dog.
I work as project manager for a grading and paving contractor in northeast Georgia. I work a radius of about 100 miles and spend too much time from home, resulting in just not enough time.
I enjoy the projects and wit and wisdom of the Lumberjocks community and look forward to visiting fr a long time to come. I may not have much to contribute, but I have gleaned much already.
