« Part 8: Rockys workshop Pt 2 Part 9 of Kids Stuff series no next part

The workshop has been completed assembly wise, so I visited the local paint shop for some paints.
I had this idea that I would buy a batch of small primary colours and mix my own.
Well this might sound fine in theory but I failed miserably in producing the colours I wanted to use.

However the primary colours, Blue roof and red drain pipes, ceiling white, and gloss white bits along with the timber floor finish and concrete effect paint went well.

The interior yellow was a fail in regard to me getting a good finish so it has been sanded back and will be repainted satin or similar beige or light tan.

As I worked away I was plagued with runs, even with blue masking tape. missed sections which were almost impossible to get to, drips and all sorts of other frustrating events, The whole painting task, thinking I could “just mix up the colours I wanted” painting small items was starting to send me bonkers.

The painting schedule

Anyway I pressed on and redid the bed lights,TV and ladder ready to fitup

That completes the blog construction wise, so I will go away and privately fix all the goofs and post Rockys Workshop as a completed project. with the hope it will look impressive then.

Thanks for droping by.

Oh I couldnt depart without sneaking in a couple of extra pictures
Rocky on seeing the raw product

And a picture his Mom sent of him at his first day at school

The look of a satisfied customer. Very cute kid and so well dressed for school too. He’ll never forget what you have built for him Rob. As for the paints, It might not be a good idea to do custom colors because if you have to touch up later it might be difficult to produce the same colors a again unless you have a recipe written up.
