« Part 7: Old Hand Saw New Handle Part 8 of Tool Restoration series no next part

I was using the Table saw today when a bug appeared from inside the Table insert avoided the spinning blade and commenced to wander about. I stopped the machine and captured these near death shots

It didint seem at least concerned to its fatal escapades wandering about near the blade

So I started up the saw again as I wanted to see if it would check out the blade and see if it needed resharpening but it was not to be so …sadly it didnt escape my electronic Bug Zapper.

Anyway on a more interesting note

1. I found out why it has such a big door, when the saw is at 45 degrees the motor occupies the space

2. I made a ZC Table Insert
Try squeesing past the blade this time!

Added some magnets to hold it in place

3. Made a Cross Cut sled from Ply off cuts

4 and a Rip fence extension

I am having more fun with this saw than the School Kids!!

I’ve yet to have a bug come up out of my SawStop. Makes a guy wonder if a bug would trip the brake the way a hot dog does. Or a finger. Or a nail in a board. Or a wet board.
