leafing work #1: Gold discovered at The Castle

You may have seen the Mad Jesters Coffin post. Well I saw it and I was impessed. So a trip to the Art Factory was in order for some Gold leaf. I found also Copper and Silver as well. I opened the Gold pack for a practice run It is used with a bonding adhesive called size. I cut a small piece of wood drilled a hole in it and sanded it down to replicate a bullion Bar. The application of the Gold Leaf is reasonably straight foward, simply manipuating it onto the piece and rubbing gently with a brush. It is tissue thin and so a draft free area would be recommended.
