That’s no fair! You want to make the rest of us feel bad.
It says very plainly, in the unwritten Lumberjocks copyrighted bylaws, that all workshop pix must be taken with dust, cutoffs and tools in their “normal” locations!! ;>)
Can’t wait to see the shop.

It’s true Rob,
Up here in Chico we have the same rule. Besides, it’s more fun to play golf than clean the shop.

Back to sharpening. I am going through all the planes and chisels and getting them as sharp as I can.

It will be nice to see pictures of your shop. But Scott is right in that it is a lot more fun to play golf than clean shop. Right now mine simply has paths in it. I am finishing up a kitchen remodel and sunroom addition and I have tools scattered over my assembly table and molding and wood in piles on the floor of the shop. To tell the truth I don’t think any of us would be shocked to see a shop with some sawdust and tools scattered around. That is the normal state for the majority of us. I envy those guys who keep pristine and orderly shops but I often wonder if they ever do any work in there.

This is the fist time I’ve really had success sharpening. It has been a lot of work but really satisfying to have all my bench and mortising chisels and 10 of twelve planes SHARP and tuned. Tormek, water stones, some wet & dry sand paper. Thin whispy shavings are really pretty.
