I’m Starting to build 4 Wooden Planes. 2 Smoothers, a Jack and a Jointer.
Part 2: Tasks so far
Well I selected the 2 pc method of construction instead of the easier 3 pc style because we have a really good woodworker here in Sacramento that loves to teach (Gary Foster, “GarySharp”) and he was teaching a class on making these planes. His instructions are really good. First I selected the stock. All hard Maple with the correct grain. Milled it square and true and cut them in half.
