These are the “french style” similar to the ones that Bob Rozaieski, http://www.logancabinetshoppe.com/ demonstrated on his podcast.

These look very smart and nicely done Rob. Are you going to use a cutter or a pin on these?

I have three pieces of tool steel, 5/64 rnd O1, 3/16 rnd O1 and 1/16×1/4 W1. First I am going to try the 3/16 O1 and make pin shaped cutters. Not just points but small cutters. Grind them and heat treat the edges. I am trying to figure out how to make removaple cutter sets to match my mortising chisels. I want to attach a cutter to match each mortising chisel. I don’t want to have a dedicated beam for each mortising chisel, but it would be simple.

The wedges are eucalyptus from a tree that fell in our yard. I seams hard enough but softer than the walnut and kind of waxy which makes it easy to tighten but doesn’t damage the beam.
