I got into wood when I lived in Seattle for awhile. I used to dumpster dive next to a cedar saw mill at night to get scraps--you wouldn't believe the stuff they would throw away. About the same time I found a book on Chinese Lattice Design by Daniel Sheets Dye and was fascinated. I'm not very good (yet) but I enjoy trying to figure out how to make some of those designs. I lieve in Florida now, so its too hot in the summer to work in the garage, but its winter, so i'm trying to do more wood working lately.

This site looks great, I hope to learn a lot.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless
