Follow along as I build a tenor guitar. In this video I build a mortise template and cut the neck mortise in the guitar.

A lot of work went into creating that mortise. It’s always a relief to know that the jigs and fixtures we make actually work. I’m glad it worked out.

Hi Doug -
I have so much time invested in the guitar up to this point that I needed a foolproof way to make that mortise – I may have been able to make a repair if the mortise cut was off but I didn’t want to find out.
Other than attaching the back, the body of the guitar is essentially done I look forward to moving on to completing the neck and putting it all together.
Thanks,
Randy
