Every morning when I wake up my whole body hurts. Even the bottom of my feet hurt. I shuffle around the house like Sand Paper Sally. It’s no wonder my floors have no finish left on them. When I die, My tombstone will read: ” Here lies Sand Paper Sally…”

Hummm, I like it, I think a lot of us feel that way. But, just think how difficult our woodworking lives would be without the aid of sand paper. It sure does take the bumps away. Have a good one! – e

Multi vitamins and gel inserts in your shoes might help. I take vitamins daily and it makes a difference that i notice.

If this is really a problem you should see a MD. At your your young age you should not be having these kinds of aches and pains. Its probably something minor but could be an early symptom of a more serious problem that should require nore agressive treatment. Good luck.

Thank you RTB, and I wish RTB that I was a youngster. Nearly 50 and have broken so many bones over the years from extreme sports that I am now paying the price. As for medical help, my sister is an accupuncturist and my brother in law a chiropractor.. so I have no excuse, except that I hate going to sit in a dr. office when I can be home building with wood. Also Greg Whodat- I do take vitamins and even inject b12 everyday… imagine how I would feel if I didn’t. :) As for the gel inserts, I had the good professional made to order personal fit ones out of my ski boots. HOWEVER JUST YESTERDAY my puppies found them and CHEWED THEM TO PIECES. I kid you not. And those stupid inserts aren’t cheap. So I guess I just need to do what I always tell my daughters.. quit bitchin’ and suck it up. LOL. It all seems to loosen up after I take 2 alleve and get moving. Thanks for the laughs- you guys are so funny!

Gril ‘nearly 50’ is young. And the fact that they improve with Alieve is pretty indecative of an inflamatory process. As I said you should se an MD and get evaluated .

I understand your problem. I have major back issues. I get up every morning way too early. The soreness is even worse for me if I lay in bed too long. Even then though, it takes me from thirty minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the day, to acually get moving good. Do what I do. Pour up some coffe. Catch up on Lumberjocks. Then get on to the shop.

[Every morning when I wake up my whole body hurts.]
Here’s a solution: stay up later and don’t wake up until after noon. :)

AMEN! sandpaper sally! (crocheting is nice for the extensive doc wait, and it often leads to the much needed nap!)
-you need to invest in more powertools, then join me in building some high shelves all around the house to protect valuables from the pups who feel deprived of our attention because we spend too much time with the tools! -think you could loft the couch too?!
