For my first real project I am building a 9 drawer dresser for my unborn daughter. It is solid mahogany with birch ply drawers.

Looking good, it will make a great keepsake for her when she is older. Are you planning on facing the dawers?

Yes Sir, at this point I had only made the top row of fronts. I was waiting on my glue ups to dry before I could proceed. For the larger fronts I glued up a 1×4 and a 1×6. If I do another one i would have made another row of drawers and just glued up 2 1×4s. Plus this was the end of the project and I should have picked out my glue up boards at beginning and not have to use what I had left. 4 of the drawers came out good but the bottom row has a lot of contrast between them. I might re do the fronts one day if it bugs me enough.

This project is currently on its second coat of tung oil. The first coat was cut 50/50 with MS, but the rest will be 100% tung oil.

Have your say...
