You’re going to love it.

The only problem with retirement, is the days aren’t long enough.

You lucky dog!!! Congratulations!!!!! If you don’t want to get up tomorrow you don’t have to?..... how sweet is that! Take a hike in the woods and never have to worry about when you have to come back. Go fishing without a care in the world. Hit golf balls till your arms fall off. Work the wood with no regard for time. Hell, you could pull a double shift of woodworking and not even realize it. God Bless Ya!!!

Congratulations, Rikkor. Retirement is a wonderful part of life but, after the “vacation” wears off you will find you have to do something with yourself other than sitting around watching Opra and Days of Our Lives. :)

But I agree with Max and Dick the days simply won’t be long enough for you to get things done. But it will be fun trying to fit everything in.

-- With God's help all things are possible- even woodworking. Woodworking is not just a hobby, it is an (expletive deleted) expensive hobby.

You’ll enjoy… I had to wait until retirement to take up woodworking… but I am way behind the craftsman… but then being retired, there is no hurray to catch up. At least there are now six Saturday’s in a week and you still have a day of rest on Sunday.

you’re gonna love it. People here have ‘interests’ they don’t worry about retiring like some people do. I was fortunate to be able to retire three years ago at 52. I threw away the ties, well I kept two; bought a stack of pocket T’s and a couple of pairs of jeans at walmart, and a drawer full of white socks and a pair of workboots. I get dressed in the morning and at night my wife often finds wood chips in bed.

A suggestion. If you have a YMCA or a good gym program in your town, join and work out a couple of hours 3-4 times a week. It makes you feel good both physically and emotionally as you know you’re doing what you can to make that retirement last a long time.
Congrats! and don’t forget to take a day off once and awhile.
