Hobbyist woodworker from Alabama. Started woodworking in 2007, but like many people have historically had very limited time to do woodworking due to work duties. Fortunately this has changed & my schedule now allows a lot more free time.
In December of 2014 I moved my shop due to home renovations, and am now renting a shared workspace with other woodworkers. So far this has been very inspiring and I'm logging more time in the shop than ever.
My interests within woodworking lie mainly in furniture construction. (and of course building shop appliances). I am predominantly a hand-tool user, though make occasional use of power tools. Wherever possible I try to find a work around to avoid using my power tools, and 9 times out of 10 I am happier for it. Interestingly, at the new shop I have access to a lot of great power equipment, so my shop techniques and skills will likely adapt some in the coming months. We will see...
