I have been a woodworker for many years, making a variety of items including small functional pieces (bookshelves, small furniture items, etc.) as well as wooden toys. I retired almost four years ago and was re-bitten by the woodturning hobby which I had not done since high school many years ago.
When I am not working at my part time job in a local hardware store, I still make toys for my two small grandchildren but spend most of my free shop time at my Jet 1642 EVS lathe. I especially enjoy turning bowls from green wood (and have a large and growing supply in my garage) as well as pens, pepper mills, goblets, and platters. I am a member of both the Baltimore Area Turners and Chesapeake Woodturners clubs and enjoy my time and learn quite a bit from the other members at each. I have a lot to learn but really enjoy the hobby and plan to pursue it as long as possible.
-- Once in awhile I make something really great. Most days I just make sawdust.
