Rigid 4510, a Beginner's Perspective

Rigid 4510, a Beginner's Perspective

I have been lucky enough to be collecting some tools to help me expand my project capabilities from rough carpentry to some finer work. I recently got a planer, and today added a table saw. Previously I had made very good, and I’d like to think creative, use of a straight cut guide for my circular saw and a compound miter saw. After having worn out my CMS, I was preparing to purchase another, and decided to instead give it a little TLC and buy a table saw. I read many reviews and ...

I have decided to buy this saw not as a replacement but as a complement to my stationary/big bertha/woodshop tablesaw. Nothing new compared to other comments. I just want to add my 5 stars to the stack. The original 500 CAD price was a bit high for me and I was about to resign myself to wait and bang !.150 CAD OFF !. The promo is still active. On Homedepot.ca website, search for TS2400LS instead of R4510. I think the R4510 is the new version butHD site is not up to date. Anyways… ...

Dadoing

Dadoing

Please don’t be too concerned with my 3 STAR evaluation, I had to put something there and haven’t had the opportunity to use the saw. I am getting ready to start my first project, by the time I am through, I will be ready to give it a better/worse rating. I just purchased this R4510 Ridgid. I like it so far but it does have some irritating points. Trying to find a zero clearance insert for the standard blade and a dado blade is a lesson in futility. I finally had to make my own...

Nifty saw made even better by nifty upgrades

Nifty saw made even better by nifty upgrades

I have owned this Ridgid R4510 for about two weeks. During that time I have cut a fair amount of wood with it, and the unit works very well, indeed. The blade growls a bit as it comes up to speed, but once there the operation is smooth as silk. The fence was aligned square out of the box, as was the blade (which I replaced with a new Freud unit for precise ripping work, saving the Ridgid blade for rough-and-tumble stuff), and even the wheels were attached when I unpacked it. I did several ...

BitterSweet week for my woodshop

BitterSweet week for my woodshop

Got laid off back in August due to the housing/construction slow down, and things are not looking any better in the near future. I gave up on looking for work and decided to start my own home repair business. Now that I am using my 1 car garage/shop as a base for my business, I decided that I need more portability in my setup, .... so that means I sold off my stationary tools this week. :( Gone are my beloved Delta 36-979 table saw, dust collector, Dewalt air compressor, and Craftsman 6...

Hey Everyone - I’ve never posted here before, but I did a lot of research here before buying a replacement for my beloved cast iron Ridgid table saw. It had served me well through a major renovation, but now that the project is complete, I wanted something I could more easily tuck out of the way. I’d narrowed it down to the Ridgid 2410LS and the Bosch 4100, and was leaning toward the Bosch when I dropped in at my local Home Depot. The Ridgid rep happened to be there on a Sat...
