Dust Deputy Delux Kit

Dust Deputy Delux Kit

I received the kit today and I was excited to try this sucker out. (No pun intended….Okay maybe a little) The kit had all of the bolts, washers and nuts. It went together easily, but the directions were not perfectly clear. The only complaint of assembly is that there was not enough copper tape included to ground the system as suggested. I took the system to my shop and hooked it up to my Shop vac. The cyclone’s connections were tapered so connecting to my vac was easy. I cleaned ...

Very poorly assembled

Very poorly assembled

I ordered 2 of the Oneida Dust Deputies to set up on two different shop vacs since they were on sale for $39.Opened them up and the tops on both of them were a bit skewed. I pressed on the section that looked like it was not on all the way and POP, off it came. Looked at the second one and barely gave it a tap and …...bummer. I kinda had to laugh because it was not a total surprise after lilredweldingrod’s reviewI was hoping they had remedied this fault by now. After a close...

I’ve been using my Dust Deputy for several months now and feel it is time to give it a review. The theory is very sound and as long as the plastic stays together it works as advertised. BUT I can’t keep the top on. The glue at the factory failed, the epoxy failed and the “special glue from HD was no better. Evidently the plastic that it is made from is impervious to any kind of glue to keep this sucker together. I complained to their service department and was told to get th...

Dust Deputy with bigger bucket

Dust Deputy with bigger bucket

So I have had the dust deputy for about 2 years and was using the 5 gallon buckets that came with the kit. I got tired of emptying the buckets during planning so I searched and found the perfect fit. It was a 32 gallon container from Lowes and its the perfect match. I have attached the dust deputy to the bucket and was concerned that the suction would be impacted negatively but was positively surprised that it worked just as good if not better that before. I say better because I don’...

Dust Deputy for Router Table

Dust Deputy for Router Table

Routing my test piece for raised panel doors with the Dust Deputy connected to the router cabinet and fence, I was sold on this dust collector. I’d give it more stars if I could. I had gone to Onieda’s website for more information and saw how the dust swirled around, when I saw it on mine I just started laughing thinking this thing is going to work. After routing 9 raised panels and emptying the canister once, total of about 6-7 gallons of sawdustl, it was time to look into the s...

Multiple reviews already of the $99 Dust Deputy system sold by Oneida – thought I’d throw my two cents in on the $59 version that is just the cyclone sold separately. For the cost of a $5 painter’s bucket from Lowe’s and the time it takes to make a plywood lid, you have the same result as buying the complete kit with arguably a better lid/long term durability. I routed a groove in the plywood as someone else had suggested and put a layer of weather stripping in the...

my dust deputy works great too. the shopvac is clean. i strapped my dd to the shopvac with a rachet strap. i had to cut 2 hourglass-shaped spacers (out of 2×4) to get a good and even ‘lock’ between the cylindrical bucket and the cylindrical shopvac. (trace the bottom of the 5 gal bucket for the bottom spacer, and the top of the bucket for the top spacer). i mostly just pick it up to move it, but it also rolls/drags ok.i also suck a small amount of water straight into the...

Dust Deputy works like a charm

Dust Deputy works like a charm

Just picked up my DD today at the local Woodcraft store. Was not sure what to expect…only watched the online video as well as the reviews here and at other sites. Put it together per instructions, hooked it up to my old Ridgid 4.5 hp wet-dry vac and “POW”...it worked much better than expected. It was like adding a supercharger to my vac…cleaned up alot of sawdust on the floor and inside my TS cabinet in no time flat. I plan on getting a new 6.5 shop vac soo...

New Plastic Dust Deputy Arrests Dust

New Plastic Dust Deputy Arrests Dust

The demo at AWFS and videos online were just too convincing … I ordered the new Oneida Dust Deputy kit ($99.00 plus $10.50 S&H). It was money well spent. The ‘kit’ comes with the plastic cyclone, two buckets, lid, hardware and hoses. The cone itself is a tough, heavy plastic, and the hose connections are tapered so my ShopVac hoses fit tight and stay put. Assembly took under 5 minutes. Instead of a copper wire and washer recommended by the manufacturer for static disc...
