Not quite available in stores yet, I got the chance to test and review Micro Jig’s “ZeroPlay” miter bars. They are really two pieces with opposing wedges molded in that spread them to fit the miter slot. Set screws lock the bars once adjusted. They are molded of glass filled nylon, which makes them durable as well as slick enough to slide well. I put together a small cut off sled using one of these guide barsIt worked out well and I won’t have to deal with the seasonal swelling of wood runners. It was also easier than using the white plastic UMW (sp?) and having to fit it.2 points:I made the bar fit tighter in the slot than the directions recommend because there was still play in the board until I made the fit tighterI used 3/4” plywood and had to counter bore a 1/2 ” hole 7/16 deep so the short screws would projec...
