So I’ve had this saw a few months now and had time to make a number of different cuts with it. I picked this up at Home Depot pretty much paid $150 net for it as I had a few other items and used the $20 off $200 Pro coupon. I’ve cut a pretty good bit of ply, some hardwood and a bunch of 2x and cedar pickets when I replaced some of my fence. Overall, I’ve been impressed with the saw and the quality. Some of you might remember that my nearly 30 year old Craftsman circular saw smoked during the beginning of building my wife’s garden shed. I was a cutman on a framing crew for about 7 years and I have used just about every major brand circular saw out there and the only thing that comes close to a magesium Makita saw is a regular Makita saw. No, I don’t work for Makita but this saw is the absolute best. At only 10 lbs, this bas boy has a powerful 15 amp motor that cuts anything in it’s path.
