Well, I took the time to modify two things on my new G1014Z sander. First I removed the switch assembly and simply turned it around. I put the switch in front and the wires in back. This makes it much easier to access the switch. Second, I moved the backstop furthur back closer to the disc roller above the platen. You can see where I drilled and tapped for the mounting bolt. OK I couldn’t help myself. When I ordered the G1071 OSS sander, I went ahead and got this one too. Might as well round out the total order to a grand right? I had always wanted to get a larger beefyer belt and disc sander. I still have the old Delta 6×36 which will be used for pencil sharpening. lol. Now on to the pros and cons. Pros, IT”S A GRIZZLY, Heavy and very stable, strong and definately an upgrade from the Delta. It has good dust collection. Cast iron disc and tilt...

As I get more and more into the model making side of wood-working I find I need to do some quick sanding and holding the ROS while trying to sand a small piece was getting aggravating. So we stopped at the Grizzly showroom in Muncy, PA. They had both this sander and the smaller 4×36 belt sander. Needless to say the smaller one was out of stock and looked a little small and light for my needs, plus the G1014Z came with a stand. I was forced to wait 5 days before even unpacking it ...
