G0513X2 17" Bandsaw

This will be kind of a “Duel” review….One over the G0513X2 17” Bandsaw, and one over Grizzly’s customer service. I received the Bandsaw several weeks ago, but because I had been so busy….I did not have time to even un-crate it. It stood in the corner of my shop for about a week and a half before I could even open it up and start to put it together. I opened up the saw, looked it all over….no scratches,dents,blems etc..so we’re off to a goo...

I can’t really offer a great review because this is actually the first band saw I’ve ever used, literally. After reading the reviews on this web-site I was sold on this saw, There’s one that cost about 200 dollars more that has a brake and a shopfox type base. I also took the advice and ordered a Woodslicer blade from Highland woodworking. I can’t express enough how amazing that woodslicer blade seems. I have owned many bandsaws, this is the only bandsaw that has ever met my expectations. Just make sure you upgrade to the timberwolf blades, like night and day.

Just purchased the go513×2, picked it up myself at the Muncy store as I only live an hour away, be prepared as it comes almost fully assembled, bring a lot of rope, the guys in the loading dock very helpful, as they laid it down on it’s spleen for me. Just received this on Monday. It came via UPS Freight, and I paid $39 extra for the lift gate service. I highly recommend this service since this saw is a beast! 1. It came in one of flimsiest ‘crates’, if you can call it that, that I have ever seen. This saw weighs in at 325 pounds, more like 425 pounds, and this crate was built for maybe 200 pounds max. 2.
