I’ve been using a couple of offshore 18 volt Ni cads for about a year as my Dewalts wont hold a charge any longer and I saw no advantage to replacing their batteries.I had been looking at the Ridgid standard 18 volt Li cordless but when I saw this one at the Borg I had to try it. The tools are very compact and feel well made with a good balance although heavy for their size, I can live with that as they are still lighter than my old drills.The torque is amazing and blew me away at 12 vo...

I already had a large and heavy 18-volt Ryobi drill/driver when I purchased this unit, and I wanted something lighter. I still have the Ryobi, which is a fine tool, but if the job is not too demanding I will pick up and use this smaller Ridgid model. Consequently I use this thing a lot around my shop and I must say that it has surprising power and handles very well.
