On first look the Hitachi C10Fl looked like a great deal but after using it for 2 years the following has become evident: FOR EVERYONE WHO THINKS I PUT THE DUST COLLECTION ON FACING THE WRONG DIRECTION !!! I just bought this saw ($499 – 15%(Promo) – 10% (coupon) -$100 (gift card thru MIR), and I love it. This is my second table saw, and I am far from a professional woodworker (that is why I bought a $500 TS ;), and not a $1000+ Jet table saw). I have used it with pine and cedar in the month that I have had it. It cut great through both, even when using the dado blade. This is my first post and it’s about my first saw. I started woodworking a couple of years ago almost as a fluke. I bought a drill press because it was only $99 and from there I started buyng other power tools and suddenly discovered I really liked woodworking. I bought the Hitachi at Lowe’s after asking a guy at Woodcraft what he thought about the specs of the Hitachi for a beginner. I had no idea what or how much I would be cutting and $500 was a HUGE investment at the time....

After reading the many reviews here both pro & con, and seeing the many years all of them were written, I thought to start a new thread to add my 2 cents worth. I have had my Hitachi for a couple of years. I have used it for ripping while building a huge deck on my house and also for various woodworking projects.I have noticed the Hitachi brand at lowes is now porter cable and brown. I bought my drill press there also, says Delta on mine and Porter cable on the new ones. I bought that same saw (Hitachi) two years ago, I have worked it hard cutting 3×3x8’ oak up into 1×1x8’ then into 1×1x5 inches, it has never quit me. I threw that plastic dust collection pan in the trash, and make my own that fits a 4” duct. I am about to buy another one. This saw has made me alot of money.
