Like a lot of woodworkers, buying a cabinet saw was a big commitment for me. It wasn’t just a big financial decision; I also wanted to be sure I was going to have enough time between kids, a career, and other stuff that I’d feel like I really got my money’s worth out of it. My Ridgid contractor’s saw was doing a nice job for me already. But I like to make cabinets and, at the end of the day, it’s just not convenient to break down a 4×8 sheet of plywood wi...

I feel guilty posting the backstory on this, but the story needs to be told. I just started into woodworking four months ago. First, I built a workbench with some basic handheld powertools and was generally obsessed with my new hobby. In early January, I was with my business partner who happens to be my longtime best friend and I was once again talking about all the stuff I wanted to build and the tools I wanted to buy. He asked me what my dream purchase was, and I showed him the SawStop hot ...

For many years I have used a General 50-185 Contractor saw. It performed well over the years but my woodworking has advanced enough that I wanted something a little better. I have looked at the major cabinet saw brands but came back to this one because the others didn’t really trump it in any way plus it has superior safety features. I know that there are a lot of SawStop haters out there but my decision had very specific reasoning to back it up. My right index finger was severed by shr...

I got this saw a few months ago. I figured I like it enough to write a review. Yes, the Sawstop always leads to heated discussions. This is a review of the saw and nothing else. I will admit, the safety is what first made me look at the Sawstop, However, it is the last thing I think about when I use it. I hope I never have to make use of the braking system, but if I do, I’ll be glad I got it. Speaking of that, I have not had any false triggers as of yet, and I hope to not ever. Th...

Back story: When I purchased a Grizzly 1023RLW earlier this year, I actually wanted the SawStop 3HP Professional. I did so, as many of us have, because of the price of the Grizzly and the fact that it is a fantastic saw. I told myself that I’d get the Grizzly, use the money I saved from not buying the SawStop for other tools, and just be extra careful. To date, I have not had an accident on a table saw after years of use. By using all the typical safety techniques, I haven’t even ...

Hi Guys, I recently posted that I had pulled the plug on my old Delta Contactors saw.For my 64th birthday my Dad who is 90 bought me a new SawStop.Since I don’t have any insurance I convinced him that it would be a good investment. It was purchased through Highland Woodworking in Atlanta.Everything arrived in perfect shape.I planned on using my Incra TSLS fence, so ordered the shorter Pro-Glide. Sawstop will not sell a PCS without a fence. (ICS maybe)Set up was easy. Attaching the ca...
