I love to use my rasp and found that you can get these at most county co-op stores for around $20. They are large and will remove a lot of wood rapidly. I use them mostly to fine-tune my tenons. They are wide enough to be able to keep the tenon square. They are made in Brazil. (Wow a product that is not from China) I have a few bastard files and I have a tendency to file a dip in the subject matter. This horse fingernail file is heavy and flat. For some reason I can keep a better edge with it...
