Porter-Cable 10" Job Site Saw PCB220TS

Thanks to Laffayette Jack, for having one of the only reviews anywhere on this saw. I was in the situation of having my old craftsman portable die mid-project. I was never very happy with that saw anyway, so I started looking at craigslist for real saws and just stopped by Lowes to see what they had for prices. Being surprised to see the Porter Cable saws (both PCB220TS $299 and PCB270TS $599) as well as all of the other Porter Cable tools that I’ve never seen (Planers, Jointers, S...

PORTER-CABLE 15-Amp 10" Table Saw PCB220 Job site saw

PORTER-CABLE 15-Amp 10" Table Saw PCB220 Job site saw

I purchased this saw at Lowes for $329 a week ago. It has great reviews on Lowes website and a few here. I will keep this simple. I was very dissatisfied with my purchase and will be taking it back. I only used it for two days. Negatives 1. The table work surface is not flat. I posted a picture of that. The left side of the table outboard of the miter slot slopes off almost 1/8”. 2. The fence lock handle when released gets in the way of the work piece making it very difficult to set u...

Great Investment for a Small Shop

Great Investment for a Small Shop

This is my first table saw. I picked it up at my local Lowes a about 2 months ago now. My impressions after a few projects with it— Assembly & Set-UpPutting it together out of the box was a fairly straightforward affair. The saw came set square and true according to my checks. That being said, I’m not a micrometer-wielding woodworker. But it’s been fine for what I’ve done thus far. OperationIt cuts well. The supplied blade seems pretty decent. I have noticed ...

Review of the PorterCable PCB220 Job site saw. I am a relative newcomer to woodworking and the only comparison I have for this saw is my old Delta Shopmaster TS200. So as they say…your mileage may vary. Specs from the Lowes website (I have not been able to find this saw on the PorterCable site):UL Safety Listing No CSA Safety Listing Yes ETL Safety Listing No Blade Size (Inches) 10.0 Arbor Size (Inches) 0.625 Drive Motor System Direct Amps 15.0 Bevel Capacity (Degrees) 45.0 Aluminum...

Amazing Saw For The Price........ Minus the Insert Plate

Amazing Saw For The Price........ Minus the Insert Plate

857 days ago by WoodyPete | 8 comments »

This is an amazing saw for the price in my opinion. The reviews written by ‘LafayetteJack’ & ‘bobdobbs’ are dead on with my assessment of this saw. I’m just adding my 2 cents to the review of the product…...... I have no financial interest in Porter Cable or Lowes, and my woodworking experience is beginner – intermediate and is simply my hobby. I purchased this saw for many of the same reasons stated by the other reviewers: 1) This is the ...

I'll rate it a 4 out of 5 due to the blade to miter slot adjustment.

I'll rate it a 4 out of 5 due to the blade to miter slot adjustment.

First, I will rate the saw, and I rate it a 4 out of 5, over the difficulty of aligning the blade to the miter slots. The manual shows a mechanism using set screws to adjust the trunnion, from underneath the table, at the front of the saw. However, the saw does not have this feature, and when you look at the parts diagram, it is not there either. To align the blade to the miter slot, which I had to do, as mine was 0.010” out, I had to add shims under the rear lift rod. The trunnion p...
