Compact driver with power to spare!
618 days ago by Hawgnutz | 2 comments »
Don’t let its dinminuitive size fool you, this driver is packed to work! It has become my go-to driver for most of my screw driving needs! It comes with a compact charger, but you won’t need this too often. This really holds its charge! Its lithium ion technology keeps it fully charged in my drawer until I need it, although you can leave it in its compact charging crale without harm. It comes with about 30 bits with an extension bar, all in rubber holders. The direction sw...
Wixey's Woodworking Wonders
618 days ago by Tom Adamski | 0 comments »
Sure, we as woodworkers are dependent on measuring. Tape measures, story sticks, rulers etc, we use them all. Now consider for a moment if you could be even more precise in the height of that router bit or the thickness of that inlay. Wixey now offers several products, including their digital calipers that make life in the shop easier. Large display in inches with fractions or metric, stainless steel construction, accurate to 0.001”; and able to measure inside, outside, depth & step...
Pulls nails and staples without damaging wood!
618 days ago by Hawgnutz | 0 comments »
this is the BEST tool I have found for nail removal! And wit husing old salvaged barnwood, nail removal is teh first and sometimes most time consuming process for me. This tool grips the head or the shank of the nail or staple and the grip gets stronger as the force is applied! If the head of a nail is stripped off, it makes no difference to this tool. It will grasp the bare shank and pull it out—either from the front or the back! I thinlk this has reduced my nail-removing time n...
Sometimes, Smaller is Better!

I don’t cut crown molding or much of anything with my miter saw except picture frames. I also have to use a crutch to walk, so any tool I can carry with one hand is attractive to me. I do most of my cutting outside, so this “little” miter saw, that can be easily carried with one hand, is great! I sold my 10” miter saw because it was so hard for me to carry that I just got tired of using it. This Craftsman only weighs about 16 pounds and has a carrying handle unde...
Bosch Jigsaw 1590EVSK - It is a sweet tool
618 days ago by SPalm | 15 comments »
This is one of the best tools I think I have bought. I had a cheap Sears jigsaw for years and only used it when I had to. This baby is a joy to use. The T-style blades are just clipped in place and eject with the press of a button. Blade changing is almost fun, no more allen wrenches. The variable speed trigger is very easy to control. The blade rides up and down guided by a set of V shaped ball bearings which hold the blade true (these can be flipped out of the way if wanted). The pow...
Great addition to older bar clamps!
618 days ago by Hawgnutz | 0 comments »
If you have ever been frustrated by bar clamps that just don’t want to stand up straight, then these are for you! My bar clamps are old style with skinny feet and no padding between the clamp and the wood. Clamping blocks take care of the contact with your project, but we all have enough to worry about when gluingup not to have to worry about the clamps toppling over! These clamp feet/pads take cxare of that problem. These make glue-ups almost easy! These clamp pads are designe...
A new twist on an old favorite!

We all know and love WD-40 for different applications. Well, the new version with the Smart Straw has a new use that you probably did not know about. If you pull off the sraw the opening is the perfect size for those spray can nozzles! Recently, the nozzle of my spray can of glue that I use to affix my patterns to my scroll saw stock got clogged with glue. That meant that I had to soak it in solvent and clear the orfice. look at the second picture above and you can see a spray can nozz...
Excellent Blades & Outsanding Customer Service
618 days ago by Chris | 2 comments »
I had tried several cheaper blades on my bandsaw and had never been satisfied. I had come to the conclusion that it must be either me or the bandsaw (Jet 14”). After speaking with a few folks over @ SawMill Creek. I decided to give the folks @ Suffolk Machinery a call; they make these blades. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with their rep. They asked what kind of saw I had, What kind of work I wanted to perform and what the problems were that I was experiencing with my current ...
Good metal detector -- well worth the initial cost!
618 days ago by Hawgnutz | 0 comments »
If you are in the market for a metal detector for wood, this is a good one. While the calibration is kinda tricky, once you get it set, it detects metal pretty good. One nice feature is that this offers three cues when finding metal: Sight, Sound and Vibration! When metal is detected, the light changes from green to red, a beep sounds, and you can even choose for the handle to vibrate. Unlike the Little Wizaed, the Lumber Wizard works! I feel safe to trust my planer, jointer or bandsaw...
Unreliable metal detector -- save your money for a good one!
618 days ago by Hawgnutz | 3 comments »
This metal detector is reasonably priced at under $20, but you get what you pay for. When I tested this on a known area with metal under the wood (my workbench has screws attaching face to top), the detector failed to detect a #10 screw just under the wood’s surface! This is totally unacceptable. My jointer, planer. or bandsaw blades are too expensive to chance on this unreliable detector. A magnetic stud finder is much more reliable than this! Save your money for the Lumber Wizar...
