Delta 22-580 13-Inch Benchtop Planer

Delta 22-580 13-Inch Benchtop Planer

I have had this planer for going on 2 years now. I have nothing but praise for it.I got it used but like new condition. It has 2 sppeds. A dimensioning speed of 60 cpi allows you to shave rough wood to its desired thicknessquickly with no snipe. Then a quicker finishing speed of 90 cpi, your wood comes out ultrasmooth and ready to go. The double-sided M2 steel knives are powered by a 15 amp, 120-volt, single-phase motor. It has a blade zero indicator (which lets you set the cutterhead t...

A GREAT SAW

A GREAT SAW

2398 days ago by bfd | 11 comments »

In my opinion you can’t buy a better saw for the money when it comes to quality. I disagree with the other post on one point calling this a great saw for a beginner. I think it is a great saw period! I don’t concider myself a beginner nor do I concider myself a pro by any means but somewhere in the middle like most. With that said I don’t think this saw will be a purchase that I will regret or out grow any time soon. I opted for the 30” Beisemeyer Fence and have upgr...

Want to build Craftsman style furniture?

Want to build Craftsman style furniture?

This is an amazing book containing shop drawings of Stickley furniture. These are not plans, they are shop drawings. The book is divided into chapters by room: dining, bedroom, etc. I have built several of the projects in here including a small table and a mirror. I am in the process of building the Little Journey’s table and a large dining table as well. There is a huge variety of projects. In order to build a project you should be experienced in planning. I usually create ...

I’ve had this unit for about six months and am very pleased with it.After destroying a wood chisel on a 6” grinder years ago I had been sharpening my tools with Japanese water stones. I was getting unsatisfactory results on my carving and lathe gouges, so decided to find a better (read easier) way. Pros:Easy to set upEasy to repeat anglesFast with excellant resultsNo burned tools Cons:PriceA bit messy (no more so than water stones) Videos can be viewed at Sharp Tools USA ...

A Worthy bandsaw blade

A Worthy bandsaw blade

2399 days ago by GaryK | 20 comments »

I have been using these blades for years now and they are fantastic. They do a great jog resawing. They create no vibration and noise due to their variable tooth spacing from 3 to 4 TPI. Leaves a great finish also.I have cut perfect .093” think slices off of an 11 1/2” board. Fine Woodworking April 2004 has rated their Wood Slicer blade as “Best All-Round Performer” in their independent test for speed, flatness and smoothness! It also has a very thin blade of .022”. At...

Lenox Bandsaw blade

Lenox Bandsaw blade

2399 days ago by Tony | 15 comments »

Up until recently I have been using standard Band saw blade without much success, I tend to cut and re-saw a lot of white oak upto 12” in width. It was recomended to try the Lenox Tri-maste carbide tiped blade. It is a little expensive at about $140 for a 3/4” 3TPI x 136”, but boy was it worth it, I have just used it today, for all kinds of cuts on white Oak, including a 12” resaw of a board 8’ long, it was like a hot knife through butter – with vitually...

Bosch Pocket Driver Packs a Punch

Bosch Pocket Driver Packs a Punch

I really like my new pocket driver. Bosch has reinvented the cordless driver, and it leaves nothing to be desired. The way it fits in your hand makes you feel like a cowboy. No kidding. It really makes it want to practice your quick-draw. Due to it’s Li Ion battery it only weighs 4.88 lbs but delivers 80 in.-lbs. of Torque with a variable speed trigger. The LED light is the icing on the cake. I like my heavy duty DeWalt 14v cordless drill for boring holes but sometimes I go back a...

Fantastic 110v Tablesaw

Fantastic 110v Tablesaw

2400 days ago by HybridIndie | 12 comments »

I’ve had this saw for just over a year now and love it. The saw has plenty of power and is very accurate. Repeatable cuts are a breeze as long as you don’t need more that 25” of capacity. This being my only complaint about it. The saw itself is smooth with no noticeable vibration even with my 8” stacked Dado installed. I have ripped long pieces of Red Oak strips for face frames using this with a pretty generous feed rate and no noticeable bogging down in the motor. I ...

Accuracy is Art

Accuracy is Art

Greetings from West Virginia. I’m new here but I have been dying to tell someone about my new toy. I just got the Osborne EB3 Miter Gauge for Christmas and its great! I have a Grizzly G0576 left tilt table saw and the stock miter gauge was ok for rough cuts but it just was not accurate enough in my judgement. Even though I adjusted the guide bar, it still would move slightly in the slot. The angles were difficult to set and I had to look for my protractor to double and triple check...
