I Want A Flat Dependable EZ Router Table and Lift!

04-08-2010 03:01 PM by Charles Brock | 4 comments »

I am a woodworker, teacher and publisher of Build A Maloof Inspired Rocker with Charles Brock and Coming Soon, Build A Maloof Inspired Low Back Dining Chair. Each instructional bundle contains a DVD, Book and Full-Size Patterns with Online and Personal Support. What do I expect out of a router table? As a chairmaker and teacher I want dependabilty and durability and not too many frills with moving parts. This is my list of expectations. The stand and table need to be heavy without being a ...

Accurate and Powerful

I had this machine shipped from Grizzly several months ago. The shipping was timely arriving in just three business days! The machine was everything I hoped for. The tables were dead flat. They adjusted to absolute coplanar. And the machine was very powerful. I had an 1×8” hard maple board set aside just to test this machine and it trued it lickety split. I’ve been using it for months now and am very happy with this purchase. It trues up stock square and smoot...

This is my first use of this product and am impressed The tools were 12 years + and came from my father’s house in upstate NY. Due to his age and declining health, he had not used them for years by the time I picked them up and brought them to Florida (rust capital of the world – I believe.) Rust Removal – before photos: Evapo-Rust to the rescue here are the after photos. I learned about Evapo-Rust from a forum devoted to Radial Arm Saws. I bought it at Har...

Deulen Planer Sharpener

Deulen Planer Sharpener

04-06-2010 04:41 PM by Robert Cole | 13 comments »

Due to the length of planer knives you need to purchase two of the above knife holders to properly hold and sharpen planer knives. I have only used them once and they worked very well and quickly put a very sharp edge on my knives. I purchased the knife holders on EBay. The item number is 250557952917. Dan Deulen is the inventor/manufacturer of the holders and he can be contacted at telephone number 360-601-1744 or at 11311 NE Stutz Road, Vancouver, WA 98685. It is my opinion that he is...

Sloppy plunge

Sloppy plunge

04-05-2010 09:51 PM by mcase | 28 comments »

Dear Jocks, I recently Bought the 893pk router package from Porter-Cable. The plunge base had so much slop in the slide that it was a joke. I sent the following inquiry to Porter-Cable and was automatically redirected to the stock answer page. In the common interest I wish to share the following. To Porter Cable: I recently purchased the 893pk router package. I discovered that the 8931 plunge base has 1/32” of slop in the bushing on the secondary guide rod. I went back to the store a...

Jorgensen 36 in parallel bar clamp

Jorgensen 36 in parallel bar clamp

Yo whats up everybody I wanted to do a review on the jorgensen 36 in parallel bar clamp. I got two of these clamps about 4 weeks ago. There are a lot of different brands that sell parallel bar clamps and I use jet and jorgensen parallel bar clamps. To move the head of the clamp back you lift up the handle and pull back. The handle is wood and is very easy to grip. These clamps have a lot of pressure so you never have to worry about not having enough clamping pressure when you are gluing up a...

Digital Copies of Wood Magazine

Digital Copies of Wood Magazine

04-04-2010 04:36 AM by Karson | 13 comments »

I bought the Wood Magazine digital archives, which contains all issued from 1 to 195. Years 1984 to Dec/Jan 2009/2010. It’s very easy to use. It’s made to be run from the DVD, but in doing so it has a speed problem. DVD drives are not as fast as hard drives. I copied it to my hard drive making a folder called “Wood Magazine” and copied all of the data from the DVD to this folder. It’s around 7 GTB of data and it ran fine. No problems. So that improved the s...

Best kept cleaning secret

Best kept cleaning secret

04-04-2010 02:01 AM by Routerisstillmyname | 24 comments »

Stop wasting your money on those so-called cleaners that require you to mortgage your tools just to get few ounces of water and soap in a fancy package. EASY-OFF has been around a long time with a proven track record. It comes in several different skin removing flavors and I guarantee you’ll be amazed at the results. It’ll make your saw blades; router bits, forstner bits and anything that can’t be recognized anymore look like it’s brand new.Oh yeah, make sure you wear gloves.
